Either the Seattle Police Department, or the Federal Department of Homeland Security, positioned a .308 caliber AR-10 type rifle, with a long range sighting scope, on top of the King County Administration Building. The police sniper had a wide view of both the "Liberty or Death 2" rally, which had a permit from the city, and the mostly Marxist/Communist/Antifa counter protesters. The mostly Marxist/Socialist/Communist counter protesters were corralled at the southwest corner of 4th Avenue and Cherry Street, with an extensive cordon of Seattle Police officers surrounding them on all sides. Also among the counter protesters were armed members of the Marxist/Socialist "Puget Sound John Brown Gun Club" (PSJBGC). Among the PSJBGC members, were counter protesters carrying rifles, such as AR-15, AK-47, and Keltec SUB2000, type rifles. Some members of the Washington Three Percent, which held their "Liberty or Death 2" rally diagonally across the intersection, with a permit from the city, also open carried handguns and various types of rifles including AR-15 type, AK-47 type, and some bolt-action large caliber, rifles. Seattle Police Department officers kept the rally attendees and the rally counter protesters carefully separated.
